HOLLAND

Easter has come and gone. Spring is definitely in the air. The tulips are in bloom and the weather is supposed to be relatively mild, at least by Dutch standards. By mid-afternoon, temperatures usually hover around 70 degrees Fahrenheit, which is perfect for a comfortable stroll through the Keukenhof Gardens in Lisse. Some rain can be expected, but how else would those glorious tulips bloom? Fields of tulips line the countryside and they’ll stay in bloom until the end of May. This is, without question, the best time to visit Holland, especially if you’ve never been there before. My son volunteered to go to Holland with me last month. The sun came out by mid day and it was beutiful. Of course, Holland's new currency is Euro's. Bring plenty, because flower bulbs of all varieties are a real bargain in this country.
